Taal

Het Nepali is de officiële landstaal. Deze taal wordt door ca. 52% van de bevolking gesproken. Het Nepali is verwant met het Hindi en behoord tot de Indo-europese taalgroep. Het Bihari wordt door ca. 18% van de bevolking gesproken. Andere belangrijke talen zijn het Newari, het Bhojpuri, het Maithili en diverse Tibetaanse dialecten.
